MSBR Welcomes You!
Who We Are: Members represent the dynamic needs and interests of Maryland’s space community. The MSBR conducts networking, education, and community outreach programs throughout the year. The MSBR is governed by bylaws and operated by Officers under the direction of a Board. Officers and Board members are elected by Members. The Officers and Board of Directors represent the Maryland space business and academic community and the MSBR constituency base.
A Space Community Acting Together in Mutual Interest
Maryland’s thriving aerospace industry encompasses businesses with capabilities spanning earth-orbiting missions to planetary spacecraft and unmanned aerial vehicles to cybersecurity, avionics, and weapons testing. The region is a thriving hub of technology development, aerospace industry innovation, and federal research grants. When compared to other states, the Maryland aerospace industry is usually ranked either second or third in a robust economy, an educated and savvy workforce, as well as infrastructure. In 2009, Maryland’s aerospace and defense businesses were awarded $3.5 billion in federal contracts and generated $21 billion in gross domestic product. Maryland is home to sixteen of America’s top twenty-five aerospace companies and more than twelve major military facilities. And, that is just one reason to get a membership to the MSBR!
